Privacy and your obligations

Client information, consent, and what the law asks of you.

  1. Understand the client information you hold — Know what sits in your client records, what stays private, and why you may use it only for clear purposes.
  2. Ask for consent with a clear purpose — Tell clients what you need, why you need it, and keep separate choices separate.
  3. Answer a client's privacy request — Handle a request to see, correct or erase information without deleting records another law requires you to keep.
  4. Use client photographs with care — Get a specific choice before publishing an identifiable client, and remove a photo when that choice no longer supports its use.
  5. Know where clients give consent — Separate acceptance of Gloa's legal documents from a client's choice to receive your offers.
  6. Show a client what you hold about them — Check the full business record, verify the requester, and explain what you provide or withhold.
  7. Handle a client's deletion request — Delete what is no longer needed, retain only records the law requires, and do not mistake archiving for erasure.
  8. Ask permission for client photos — Get a separate, specific choice before a recognizable client photo appears on your public page.
  9. Know what Gloa keeps and for how long — Use Gloa's published retention periods without confusing them with the schedule your business must set for its own records.
  10. Separate your privacy duties from Gloa's — Your business answers for its client records; Gloa answers for the platform and information given directly to it.
