Deposits, cancellations and no-shows

Decide what you ask for up front and what happens when plans change.

  1. Choose what clients pay up front — Choose whether booking requires no deposit, part of the total, a fixed amount, or full payment.
  2. Write your cancellation policy — Choose the notice deadline and the outcome when a client cancels after it.
  3. Handle a late cancellation — Understand what happens when a client cancels after the notice deadline.
  4. Mark a client as a no-show — Record that a client did not arrive, after giving them the allowed grace time.
  5. Choose a deposit for bookings — Choose no deposit, a share of the total, a fixed amount, or full payment for new bookings.
  6. Set the no-show grace period — Choose how long you wait after an appointment starts before it can be marked as a no-show.
  7. Can you undo a closed appointment? — A no-show or completed status cannot be undone from the appointment. Check the status carefully before confirming it.
  8. Clear the needs-review list — Resolve past appointments with no check-in by marking each one completed or no-show.
