Offer a tip at check-in

Turn on optional card tips, let the client make the choice at check-in, and read what happened without holding up the appointment.

In short

  • Tips are off until you turn them on in payment settings.
  • The choice appears at check-in only when the booking has a card that can be charged.
  • Nothing is selected in advance, and No tip is offered beside the other choices.

Path: Payments › Tips at check-in

  1. Set up card payments, then turn on Tips at check-in in payment settings.
  2. When the client arrives, open check-in from the scanner or the appointment and hand them the choice.
  3. Have the client choose a suggested amount, enter another amount, or choose No tip. Suggested amounts are worked out on the service amount before taxes. A choice is required before continuing.
  4. Confirm check-in and read the result shown for the tip.

The tip choice does not appearCheck that tips are on, card payments are set up, and the booking has a card available. A tip already taken is not offered again.
