Show your area instead of your address

If you work from home, you can keep your street off your public page and show the area you work in instead.

In short

By default your full address is shown, which is right for a salon with a sign on the door.
Choose to show only your area and your street, your postal code and your exact pin leave your public page.
Clients who have a confirmed appointment are still given your full address, so nobody arrives lost.

A salon on a commercial street wants its address everywhere. A woman working out of her spare room usually does not, because that address is also where she sleeps. Gloa lets you decide, and the decision is yours to change at any time.

Path: Profile › Business profile › Location

Open your business profile and scroll to Location.
Fill in your real address as usual. Gloa needs it whether or not you show it.
Under Who can see your exact address, choose Show only the area I work in.
Write the area you want clients to see, for example Rosemont and Villeray, then save.

What clients see afterwards

Your street and postal code disappear from your page, from search results and from the map. In their place clients read the area you wrote. Your pin still appears on the map, because a client searching her neighbourhood has to be able to find you at all, but it is moved to a rough point in your area rather than your door. It does not creep further away each time you save.

Who still gets the real address

You do, and so do your managers, because they run the business with you. A client gets it once her appointment is confirmed, in her confirmation and in her calendar invitation, so she can walk to the right door. A team member who only works shifts does not, and neither does anyone browsing Gloa.

Why does Gloa keep my address at all if I am hiding it?: Two reasons. Your province decides the sales tax on your invoices, and a client with a confirmed appointment has to be told where to go. It is kept where no client and no visitor can read it.
Can someone work out my street from the pin on the map?: The pin is not your address moved slightly. It is placed inside a wide cell around your area, so the street it lands nearest to is not yours and reading it tells nobody where you live.
Will hiding my address mean fewer clients find me?: No. You still appear in searches of your area and in the map, with your name, your photos, your services and your prices. The only thing missing is the street number.
