Search near you and manage location permission

Location access lets Gloa centre the map on you, show your distance from a result, and rank nearby places. You can still browse the map without sharing your position.

In short

  • Choose Use my location when you want results centred around you.
  • If you allow access, cards can show their distance from your position.
  • If you decline, you can move the map and browse another area.

Gloa asks your device for foreground location access. The map uses the position it receives to centre on you and calculate the distance shown on result cards.

  1. Open Search and choose Use my location.
  2. Respond to your device's permission request. If you previously blocked the request, Gloa opens your device settings so you can change it there.
  3. Use the location control again whenever you want to recentre the map on yourself.
The map does not move to my position.Check that location access is allowed in your device settings, then use the location control again.

  • Change the order of search results — Sort results by Best match, Nearest, Top rated, or Lowest price. Sorting changes the order only; it does not remove a result.
  • When a search finds nothing — Try another keyword, clear or widen your filters, and check the area shown on the map. If salons could not load, check your connection and try again.
